Vintage 1971 Timex Military Watch 23571 M25 Boxed Rally Strap Excellent

Vintage 1971 Timex Military / Field Watch – Ref. 23571 – M25 – Original Box
A particularly fine example of a 1971 British-made Timex military-style mechanical watch, reference 23571.
This watch is in exceptionally well-preserved condition for its age and appears to have seen very little use. Examples of this model can still be found, but it is increasingly difficult to find one preserved to this standard, particularly complete with its vintage Timex presentation box.
The black military/field-style dial is remarkably clean, with large white Arabic numerals, inner 24-hour markings, green luminous hour plots, luminous hands, red centre seconds hand and a framed date window at 3 o'clock. The case and crystal are also extremely well preserved, giving the watch a remarkably fresh overall appearance for a watch dating from 1971.
The small numbers printed at the bottom of the dial read 23571 2571.
Inside is the Timex M25 hand-wound mechanical movement. Photographs of the movement and inside of the case back are included so buyers can see the condition for themselves. The inner case back is correctly marked “CASE GREAT BRITAIN TIMEX.”
The watch is fitted with a very attractive period vintage black perforated rally-style strap. This style suits the military/sporting character of the watch extremely well. The strap appears consistent with the period, but as I cannot verify that it was originally supplied with this particular watch, I am not claiming the strap as original to the watch.
It also comes with the vintage red Timex presentation box shown in the photographs, complete with its fitted red interior and gold TIMEX lettering. The box shows only normal age-related wear and makes this a particularly attractive complete presentation.

Condition
The outstanding feature of this particular watch is its condition. It is exceptionally well preserved for a watch over 50 years old, with very little evidence of use. The dial is especially attractive and clean, while the case retains a bright finish with only very minor signs consistent with age.
Please examine the high-resolution photographs carefully. I have included close-ups of the dial, case, movement, inside case back, strap and box, as well as a caliper photograph confirming the dimensions. The photographs form an important part of the description and show the actual watch offered for sale.
The watch is running and the date mechanism is functioning. As this is a vintage mechanical watch, no guarantee of modern accuracy or water resistance is made unless specifically stated.
A very difficult example to find in this level of preservation, particularly accompanied by its Timex box — an excellent piece for a vintage Timex collector or anyone looking for an attractive British-made military/field watch from the early 1970s.
